Megastar Mammootty had been through a happening year in 2010. Most of his films in the later half of the year like 'Pranchiyettan and the saint', 'Kutty Shranku' and 'Best Actor' were all class entertainers in which he tried and tested doing roles with fresh looking characters with varied 'mannerisms and slangs. But for opening his account in 2011, the megastar has gone to his elements by recreating one other characters that he made immortal in 1988.
Yes, Mammootty will be redoing his hit character of crime branch officer Perumal of 'August1' fame for his new movie titled as 'August 15'. This new movie to be directed by Shaji Kailas will once again feature his character with a similar mission that he had in the original - of rescuing the chief minister from a terrorist operation. This time the crime branch officer will apply his intelligence and muscle power to take on the latest technologies and methods that the terrorists are setting up to kill the state CM.
Along with Mammootty, Lalu Alex, Thalaivasal Vijay, Biju Pappan, Balachandran Chullikad, Jagathy Sreekuamr, Madhu, Siddhique, Nedumudi Venu, Shwetha Mneon, Zeenath and Krishna Prabha are also in the cast. Scripted by suspense thriller specialist S N Swamy, the movie will be cinematographed by Pradeep nair. Produced by M Mani in the banner of Sunitha Productions, 'August 15' will be brought to the theatres by Aroma movies, this February.
