Autograph leaves its signature

After dominating the Filmfare Awards last week-end, Autograph has done it again. This time at the National level.

The film has bagged three awards at the 52nd edition of the National Film Awards announced in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Autograph was adjudged the best popular film award while Pa Vijay won the best lyricist award for the song Ovvoru Pookalume in the movie.

Chitra, who sung the number won the best playback singer award.

An elated Vijay said, "I am thrilled on winning my maiden award. It is a great honour bestowed on me. Director Cheran deserves due credit for giving me the opportunity".

He added that it was a double joy for him this month for he had all his 12 books released by DMK chief M Karunanidhi last week followed by a national award now".

Saif Ali Khan was declared the Best Actor for Hum Tum while Tara won the Best Actress trophy for Kannada film Haseena.
