Actress Mallika, who rose to fame with Cheran`s Autograph` and later went on to do roles in films like Thirupachi` and Unakkum Enakkum` did not find many offers because she refused glamor roles and instead has worked as an assistant director in Malayalam films.

Now, Mallika is making her debut as a director in a Malayalam film titled Pazhaniyile Kalakam` which tells the story of how actresses are abused in the film world and the suffering they undergo both physically and mentally. Popular actress Bhavana plays a heroine and Mallika plays the role of her stunt double.
