Autonagar Surya

Friday, June 27, 2014 • Tamil Comments

Many blockbuster films in the past have the record of stretching their productions to unusual times like years together due to financial crisis but finally had the last laugh at the Box Office. No need for a long list but one name viz., 'Lava Kusha' will be all sufficient. So, Dev Katta's 'Autonagar Surya' will have an inspiration from the same when it finally completes its production and will hit the screens end of this month.

The movie has Deva Katta as the director who has a great command over the quintessential and current political drama and within just a couple of films, especially after `Prasthanam' has earned a decent following among the audiences. He is one of those names certain sections of people wait for.

Naga Chaitanya is just the raw material in good hands. The young Akkineni scion has had an average year in which he had just one release that too after two years of no release and three movies without success after `100% Love'. `Tadakha' which released in 2013 did average at the Box Office but Sunil walked away with the sheen leaving Chai almost nothing to celebrate for. So, Chaitanya will be really keeping his fingers crossed about the film and its prospects at the Box Office.

Samantha the Golden girl is playing the female lead, a second with Chai after YMC. The chemistry is good to see in the promotional posters and will be expected to be repeated on the screen as well.

Trailers launched a few days back have definitely stirred the imagination of the audiences and one must admit Dev had succeeded in showing the tough side of Chaitanya which other directors had failed in their earlier efforts. Dialogues have the sharpness and the power pack that is required for the films of this genre are expected to have.

The Premise and the promise look good, a political thriller with the rusted and rugged backdrop of mechanical engineering with loads of high voltage action and action packed one liners... So, it will be interesting to see if it's delivered.

The day is 31st January 2014.
