Illayaraja has been a prominent composer of film music in south Indian cinema since the late 1970s, he integrated folk lyricism (in Tamil) and introduced broader Western musical sensibilities into the south Indian musical mainstream.

When it comes to `Ayyan', the music maestro has done a good job with certain tracks. It has his brilliance only in slices, with only two stand out songs.

1. Yai Sivakami - Listen here

Singers: Rahul Nambiar, Rita

`Yai Sivakami', remains me of 70s song, it's not very much not up to the expectation. This track is little disappointing as the song has high folk beats. Listening to this song you can really flashback your memories to your past where you might have heard a similar song like this.

2. Unmaiyae Naan - Listen here

Singer: Maya

`Unmaiyae Naan', sung by Maya has really did a fair job. This track has simplicity when it comes to music and lyrics.

3. Enakena Ooruthy - Listen here

Singer: Rahul Nambiar

Raaja sir's makes his comeback by blowing trumpets and weaves magic in `Enakena ooruthy', which was beautifully sung by Rahul Nambiar. It's a romantic track where the flute soothes you to melody. This song makes you to listen again and again. Our music composer really scores in this track as this song is apparently a hit.

4. Manasoram - Listen here

Singers: Sadhna Sargam and Sriram Parthasarathy

`Manasoram', has the bygone charm of Ilayaraja, with a melodious rendition by Sadhna Sargam and Sriram Parthasarathy makes this song a delight to listen. The song is full of gratifying melodies soaked in love, but amidst underwhelming arrangements.

5. Katrinai Polingu - Listen here

Singer: Tippu

`Katrinai Polingu', is a transient track that is neither middling nor interesting, but it does have shades of Ilayaraja's brilliance, not tunewise, but in modulations. Tippu's voice modulation and singing is appropriate.

6. Viduthalaikuyil Naan - Listen here

Singers: Illayaraja, Nehga

`Viduthalaikuyil Naan', is a liberation track in Ilayaraja's style, that is templatized for most parts. But you never should miss out the maestro singing, and at his age, he stuns you with his rendition, Nehga does a neat job.
