In Tamil Nadu, 'Baahubali-2' opened like a Kollywood project starring Tamil superstars.

The first day gross is pegged at Rs. 11 Cr. This is huge and is said to be the second highest after Vijay-starrer 'Bairavaa' so far this year.

In Chennai, about 247 shows in 21 screens generated a revenue of about Rs. 91 lakhs. The Tamil version alone generated Rs. 76 lakhs (approx). The Telugu and Hindi versions grossed about Rs. 13.5 and Rs. 1.5 lakhs (approx).

As is known, the release of the film in Chennai faced clearance hurdles, etc. There were no early shows, which were cancelled in the last minute, much to the fans' disappointment. Overall, it's at No. 4 in Chennai after Rajinikanth's 'Kabali', Vijay's 'Theri' and 'Bairavaa'.
