Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Malayalam Comments

Director Viji Thampi and the Superstar Suresh Gopi definitely have a bad time at the boxoffice. And it is through their new offering for Ramzaan Bada Dost that they try to make good of their recent failures. As usual, this is also an action packed, punch line filled movie to satisfy the diehard fans of the star.

The synopsis of the film states that Bada Dost is a big name that induces various reactions in the city. The name figures on the hit list of both cops and the underworld elements. But ordinary people loves him very much as he has succeeded in something that even cops had failed at- restoring law and order in the city.

When he is not fighting crime, he is Dayashankar, an old cop. He runs two charity organizations.

Amma, an orphanage for street children and Sneha, a home for women thrown out by society. The police are out to catch him, but he outsmarts them at every step.

Police Commissioner Zakir Ali who is determined to bring him to book fails in his all attempts. In course of time he understands the story of Bada Dost alias Dayashankar whose family was destroyed by Geevarghese (GV) and develops a liking for him.

Dayashankar on his fight against GV, first becomes an autorickshaw driver, overcoming Pakki who ruled roost over the auto stand from where operated. Slowly but steadily he increases his power and reaches where he is today - a don who is all set to benefit the public, eliminate anti-socials and quotation groups and in the way take his revenge over Geevarghese.

Suresh Gopi is Dayashankar while Jyothirmayi and Karthika play his heroines. Also in the cast are Manikuttan, Manoj K Jayan, Cochin Haneefa, Vijayakumar, Riaz Khan, Kiran Raj, Vinod, Rani and  Veni.

The film has a few songs by Rajeev Aalunkal set to music by M.Jayachandran. Another fast edited film by Don Max on the scripts of Babu Pallassery, the film is produced by Siddhique who also plays the role of GV in the film.

The film released under the banner of Corporate cinema will be distributed by liberty films for Ramzan.
