Veteran Tollywood actor Balakrishna aka Balayya's landmark 100th film 'Gautamiputra released for the Makara Sankaranti (Pongal) festival in January this year. The biopic film of the much revered Telugu king, turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of Balayya's career and it was also critically acclaimed. Shriya Saran played the female lead in the film directed by Krish. The film also has Tamil native Bollywood actress Hema Malini in an important role.
Now a prominent film distributor RNC Cinemas have acquired the Tamil dubbing rights of the film and the will be soon releasing the Tamil version in theatres.
After the stupendous success of 'Baahubali 2' in Tamil Nadu, many Telugu film producers are trying to release their film in Tamil and 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' may well be the perfect start for the trend.
