Bangaru Babu

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

Manly star Jagapathi Babu who arrived last week in a rather macho role as the Chief Minister of this state with the movie `Adhineta' has taken a complete U turn and right now he is arriving with a rather tender and emotional family entertainer. True to the theme, this has been titled `Bangaru Babu' and it is being directed by Jonnalagadda Srinivasa Rao while the producer happens to be the darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao. Dasari has also written the script and has done the screenplay for the movie.

Jagapathi Babu has paired up with the talented Malayalam beauty Meera Jasmine in this one. There is also Shashank, Jayasudha, Murali Mohan doing crucial roles in the supporting cast and the story revolves around how the hero tries to fulfill the wishes of his dying father and what are the challenges and difficulties he faces in this aspect. There is also a rich man and a poor man concept in the movie which runs on a high emotional quotient and will appeal the family and mass audience.

The music for the film has been composed by M M Srilekha and the audio response has been quite positive. Most of the numbers are melody numbers except for one which is a rather peppy one. Apparently the title is actually a reuse since this was used way back in the year 1972 for a film. It was during the shooting of this film in Kashmir when trouble broke out and the cast and crew were stuck. Dasari arranged for all of them to come by flight from Kashmir to Hyderabad at that point of time.

Shashank is playing a crucial role in this one and it must be said that this is also a crucial one for Jagapathi Babu since he has not been able to deliver a pure success at the box office lately. Meera Jasmine can be considered as a lucky mascot since she has been able to score successes in her Telugu flicks lately.

India Glitz wishes `Bangaru Babu' and team good luck!!!
