The environment protection from plastic waste was a big challenge. The new method of using plastic waste for the purpose of erecting tar roads has been approved after a careful study on the issue.

As of now 450 ton of polythene plastic waste will be melted and used for the rehash of roads. KK Plastic Waste Management Company has come forward to work on this novel method. The South division chief engineer S Prabhakar explained the system to media on Monday.

Already a few agents have been selected for collecting plastic waste. The plastic from wastes thrown in public places, from apartments, schools, colleges and other places are collected. For every kilogram of plastic Rs.6 to 8 has been fixed by KK Plastic Waste management Company says Ahmed Khan.

The rag pickers would get a definite income from this decision of BBMP. The usage of plastic in setting up tars is sure to increase the value of the work.

As a matter of fact this plastic waste management for use of tar road was implemented ten years ago. In the last two year the idea was dropped. After Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana took up this plastic waste management for national high way road construction, the system got facelift once again.
