Post Anil Kumble`s exit as coach for the Indian men`s cricket team, the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) bypassed the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) and invited fresh applications for the job. The CoA was clearly not amused about not being kept in the loop.

Sources claim that certain BCCI officials themselves do not agree with the way things are being handled and some are supposed to have pointed fingers at the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising V V S Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganghuly.

One official said that the CAC had backed Kumble`s extension without interviewing any of the candidates who had applied so far. In fact, the board is yet to deliver on its promise, made two weeks ago, of revealing the list of candidates with the media, and has not shared three managers` reports made during Kumble`s tenure with the CoA.
