Hit badly in life, Malathesh after a round in television serial direction hailing from a remote village Huttur near Bankapur in Hubli district in Karnataka has a tale of sorrows. His life sketch so far is itself a script for a film. After running away from PUC examination in his village in Bangalore he begged for seeing cinema. At the Nandini and Veerabhadreshwara theatre in Bangalore he begged to see the films ‘Sahodarara Savaal’ and other Kannada films.

Malathesh who recovered from a very bad accident in life says he never begged to fill his stomach but for the urge to watch films. In the last 14 years he had seen 2500 films of all languages and made a study of all the films.

Starting as clap boy in ‘Sketch’ Kannada cinema of Nanjundi Nagaraj, this young director with no big aspirations in life is hell bent on giving a compact and quick cinema for the masses in ‘Shankra’.

He has taken up ‘Shankra’ for his friend Lokesh who saved his life. Beginning as a television serial assistant director with SK Bhagwan in small screen Malathesh worked with Ashok Naidu, Vishwanath, Nagabharana, Vijaykumar, SM Patil and as episode director for Thulasi, Savithri, Vatsalya, Madhuve, Manasaveene and Maaya.

Malathesh struggling for life and has not yet come out from poverty line has made very systematic approach to his debut direction.
