Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and ROMP Pictures, one of the most awaited films of 2013 `Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is directed by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra. The most-talked and much-awaited film is a biopic of the legendary sprinter Milkha Singh and also touted as the first film of a living legend. While Farhan Akhtar plays the protagonist, Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Prakash Raj and Pakistani actress Meesha Shafi will be seen in prominent roles among others.
The biopic tells the real-life story of a hero (Milkha Singh) who fights against the odds.
Farhan had gone out of the way to look perfect in the movie. Going through high standard of professional athlete training and crash diets. Farhan went from lanky to sport and muscular for the movie.
The film includes several of firsts... This will be Prakash's first Hindi film role where he doesn't play a negative character. In the film, Prakash's character's job is to refine and discipline the cadets who have recently joined the army.
46 real-life Jawans are also reported to be part of this prestigious project, who play Farhan's companions. They feature in a song "Maston Ka Jhund", which showcases the solidarity between the army men, who are being trained by a strict ustaad (Prakash Raj).
Prasoon Joshi turns a screenplay writer for the first time with this film. Last but not the least; the song "Zinda" marks the debut of Shakar Mahadevan's son, Siddharth as a singer.
`Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', one the biggest film this year, is all set to release on 12 July.
