Reminding scenes from films such as ÂSivaputruduÂ, a crazy fan of Namitha Âkidnapped the actress after she landed at Tiruchirapalli airport to attend a felicitation function.
It is said that Namitha reached Tiruchi on Monday by a flight to take part in a function at Karur. At the airport, a man introduced himself to her as the driver arranged by the function organisers.
Believing him, she boarded the car which sped away. On seeing this, the real driver informed the organisers, who in turn alerted the police besides started chasing the speeding car. The chase came to an end at last the police rescued Namitha from the ÂkidnapperÂ.
The man identified as Periasamy reportedly told police that he was a fan of Namitha and hence kidnapped her. Further investigations are on.
