This Tamil New Year day, prominent stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Ajith, Vikram and Suriya will not have any releases, which has come a big disappointment for their fans.

The final lineup includes Cheran's Mayakkannadi, Jeeva's Unnale Unnale, Madurai Veeran featuring Ramesh and directed by Vincent Selva, Malayalam director Vinayan's Arpudha Theevu featuring dwarfs, Prithviraj and Mallika, Chinni Jayanth's Kanal Neer and Capital Film Works' Chennai 600028 would be hitting the screens.

Kanal Neer features newcomer Rithesh, and Venkat Prabhu's first directorial venture Chennai 600028 will be released a couple of days before (12 April).

Several other films in the fray backed out at the last moment with cricket World Cup in the final stages.
