Based on the life of Sandeep Singh, former captain of the Indian hockey team, Shaad Ali is going to make a Hindi-language biopic. Diljit Dosanjh of 'Udta Punjab' fame will essay the lead role.
The news is that the film is reportedly in Taapsee Pannu's kitty. Ileana D'Cruz, who was the first choice, is said to have expressed her inability to do it. The 'Pokiri' girl is showing greater interest towards an Ajay Devgn film.
Taapsee, whose 'Judwaa-2' hits the screens soon, prefers to play a balancing act, doing both commercial films (like 'Anando Brahma') and slice-of-life dramas. It's rare to come across sportswomen on the Indian screen.
Taapsee must be getting ready to learn the ropes to get her hockey player's demeanor right.
