The biggest draw of the last 50 days in Kannada cinema is 'Sarathi' starring challenging star Darshan and Deepa Sannidhi. The outstanding collection of 'Sarathi' has beaten the biggest combination of Kannada cinema Yogaraj Bhat and power star Puneeth Rajakumar 'Paramathma' is a fact.

Both Sarathi (in 50 days) and Paramathma (40 days) made a gross of Rs.40 crores. Sarathi collection is estimated at Rs.25 crores and rest 15 crores is earned by 'Paramathma' in 40 days.

What is interesting is that so far such a battle in the box office of Kannada cinema was noticed. Darshan despite of serving the jail for a fortnight in the wife beating case had his box office collection superb and the personal life of the star did not come in the way of collections for his film.

Darshan undertook a travel all over Karnataka with 'Sarathi' victory but for 'Paramathma' the publicity was poor from the team. To lift the film via publicity no effort was made for 'Paramathma'.

In the case of 'Mylari' 99th film of Shivarajakumar the film reached 100 days because of a travel of the hero in various districts of Karnataka. The similar yard stick was followed by challenging star Darshan film 'Sarathi' and it has given rich dividends for the first time producer KV Sathyaprakash.
