Bodyguard completes 100 cr, biggest hit ever

Mollywood director Siddhique's first Hindi film, 'Bodyguard' has completed its 100 crore as theatrical collections from India alone. The feat which the movie achieved in just a week is tauted as the biggest ever first week collection of a Hindi film. The phenomenal opening of this Salman Kahan-Kareena kapoor film will make it one of the biggest hits ever in the history of Hindi cinema. The other few movies that has completed the 100cr mark includes '3 idiots', 'Dabaang', 'Ready', and 'Golmaal3', the collections of which is expected to be crossed by this 'Bodyguard' in the coming weeks.

The movies first six day collections were earth shattering, though it had a fall on Tuesday as it grossed around 6.75 crore nett on the day, as per early estimates.

'Bodyguard' has grossed a huge $5.25 million (24 crore) in the International markets in its extended weekend, which was six days at places. The film was released with 2800 prints, of which 320 prints were in over seas territories. This overseas collections is similar to the record opening of 'My Name Is Khan'.

This Hindi 'Bodyguard' is the second remake of the Malayalam film with Dileep as the hero. Many of the Siddhique's hit movies had been earlier remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan, but this is the first time Siddhique himself has attempted to a Bollywood flick. Hats off to Siddhique, for being remembered as one of the biggest hit makers of all times in Indian cinema.
