Bodyguard

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Malayalam Comments

Director Siddhique holds a very special record in Mollywood - the record of creating super hits after super hits. Even while he was teaming up with his good friend Lal or even after that, Siddhique has been able to create wonder hits like Hitler, Vietnam Colony to Friends and chronic Bachelor. Now after a gap of six years, Siddhique is back, teaming up with young star Dileep for the movie 'Bodyguard'. The actor who hasn't created a mega hit for the last few years, have great hopes on this movie, which is expected to continue with the hit ride for Siddhique and gift Dileep with that much evading mega hit.

The movie as usual like other Siddhique flicks is also scripted by the director himself. `Bodyguard' tells the story of Jayakrishnan, an young guy with a very strange habits. From his childhood, he is attracted to anyone who shows a miniscule heroism. He then adored cops and aspired to become a heroic cop, at some point of his life. But later in real life, he found that crooks were more adventurous and heroic than cops and so started admiring, following and living like them.

Jayakrishnan also have a habit of following everyone whom he admires. And into this list of his stars, arrives former liquor baron Ashokan, who has shown some brilliant heroics in managing his illicit business. The admiration for Ashokan grows no bounds in Jayakrishnan and so he somehow befriends him. He presents himself as a former NSG commando and gets appointed as his personal security chief.

As part of his new job, Jayakrishnan is also forced to take care of Ammu, Ashokan's daughter. So he moves along Ammu even when she is into her college, as her bodyguard. What rollicking fun follows forms the rest of the plot.

Glamour queen Nayantara makes a comeback to Malayalam after a gap of four years, playing the role of Ammu. Tamil actor Thyagarajan becomes Ashokan. The film also features in the cast debutante actress Mithra, Pakru, Janardhanan, Zeenath, Harisri Ashokan, Nandu, Anil Murali, Cochin Haneefa and Seema G. Nair.

Bodyguard, like Siddhique's earlier films, will have enough of humour, and five songs, set to music by Ouseppachan. The songs in the movie are choreographed by Prabhu Deva. Cinematographed by S Kumar, the movie is being shot at locations at Kottayam, Munnar and Wagamon.

Produced by Johny Sagariga cinema square, the movie is expected to reach theatres by the first week of July, most probably on July 4, the lucky date of Dileep.
