Bollywood big names storm Tamil cinema

Bollywood - Tamil

Before the new millennium Bollywood was considered the big brother of Indian cinema and actors and directors from South always nursed the dream of making it big there. Even such legends as Rajini and Kamal had their brief excursions in the North and Mani Ratnam still continues to strike the right balance between the two poles. However the times have changed and now we have the Bollywood bigwigs considering acting in Tamil cinema a prestige and here we list them out for you in upcoming movies.

Sridevi

Sridevi

The dream girl of Tamil cinema during the Rajini-Kamal era went on to rule the roost in Bollywood making it her home. She was back in Tamil after many years in ‘Puli’ and now in her fiftieth year in the industry and 300th film ‘Mom’ Sridevi has also made a Tamil version with A.R. Rahman scoring the music. She obviously hopes to repeat the ‘English Vinglish’ magic that had some major help from Thala Ajith’s cameo inTamil.

Rahul Bose and Shekar Kapur

Rahul Bose and Shekar Kapur

In Kamal Haasan’s upcoming ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ on one side we have Rahul Bose as the chief antagonist who is one of the early Indian actors to get recognition in the west. On the other hand we have Shekar Kapur the director of Oscar winning ‘Elizabeth’. Well that’s double the horsepower that only Kamal can gather in one film.

Kajol

Kajol

The ‘Minsara Kanavu’ heroine has not lost one bit of her star power in the twenty years that has gone by. It is obvious that Kajol will prove to be the perfect foil for the intense acting prowess of Dhanush in ‘VIP2’ and we just have to wait for less than a month when the film hits the screens on the 28th of July to watch the magic on screen.

Jackie Shroff

Jackie Shroff

The late eighties and early nineties belonged to Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff before the advent of the Khans. The ever handsome Jackie Shroff after the critically acclaimed ‘Aaranya Kaandam’ and ‘Kochadaiyaan’ is back in a pivotal role in ‘Mayavan’ written by Nalan Kumaraswamy and directed by C.V. Kumar.

Nana Patekar

Nana Patekar

India’s most consummate actor, Nana Patekar has held his own against acting powerhouses Amitabh Bachan, SRK, Salman Khan, Nazeerudin Shah and others. In Pa. Ranjith’s ‘Kaala’ Nana Patekar is pitter against Superstar Rajinikanth and the sparks that are going to fly on screen will be nothing short of celluloid magic when the film hits the screens on the 14th of January 2018.

Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi

To match the unparalleled charisma of Thala Ajith you need someone equal as the opposing force in a film to make any impact. Siruthai Siva has most definitely chosen the right Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi who has proven himself as a romantic hero, action hero, comedic hero, villain and a formidable character actor in his recent films.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar

Shankar and Lyca Productions have pulled of a casting coup by pitting Superstar Rajinikanth against the most bankable Bollywood heavy weight Akshay Kumar in ‘2.0’ and by the sneak peaks we have gotten in the posters it looks like we are in for the most entertaining time from the most charismatic duo of Indian cinema.
