This time, the contest was initially between two teams, led by Bharathiraja and Ameer respectively. However, a last minute peace arrangement worked out by senior members P Vasu and K S Ravikumar ensured that both groups joined hands together.

As per the ‘gentlemen agreement’, Bharathiraja contested for president post and Ameer for the post of secretary, at the elections that took place at music artistes’ union building in Vadapalani. Also, a team comprising a section of assistant directors was also in the fray.
