The topnotch politicians of BJP, Congress I and JDS are interested in contesting the 2018 Assembly election from Northern Karnataka.

JDS HD KUmaraswamy (currently undergoing heart operation) former chief minister set up a house in Hubballi long ago. A few days ago former chief minister BS Yediyurappa has made his options very clear to contest from Uttar Kannada constituency. Months ago a regional daily reported that BS Yediyurappa, Chief Minister candidate would contest from safe place ‘Rajajinagara’ that is continuously won by most honest former minister of BJP S Suresh Kumar.

With the announcement of BS Yediyurappa taking on northern Karnataka belt to fight the election battle, the congress I members are forcing Chief minister Siddaramaiah contest as opponent so that it gives a big moral support to Congress I party. In addition to it winning more seats from Northern Karnataka is prestigious issue for any political party. Cabinet colleague SR Patil suggested Koppala constituency for chief minister. It is from this place Siddaramaiah once contested for MP election.

Inside sources as of now says chief minister Siddaramaiah is vacating his Varuna constituency to his son Dr Yathindra and choosing Chamundeswari constituency for his next battle.

The sources at chief minister office say that any assembly constituency the chief minister Siddaramaiah is ready to contest. The Congress I high commands opinion is also important because Siddaramaiah heads the next election.
