The UDF has filed a case against ace actor Mohanlal for campagining for the upcoming elections. The complaint is that Mohanlal is misusing his Lieutenant Colonel position. The controversies blew up after Mohanlal campaigned for his friend Ganesh Kumar who is an LDF candidate.

But Mohanlal had also visited Thiruvanchiyoor at his residence, thereby treading a line of diplomacy. It remains to be seen if the court will consider the case against Mohanlal. Meanwhile Ganesh Kumar's opposite candidate and cine artiste Jagadeesh was saddened by Mohanlal's campaigning
