There are two things that you want to check when the CD of 'Everybody On Dance Floor 4.0' is handed over to you - a) Is it yet another Himesh Reshammiya compilation since the music company has brought out dozens of them ever since 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' became a massive hit and b) With 34 tracks in the album, is it one of those annoying non-stop hits remix albums?
Answer to both these questions is - No!
First and foremost, each of the topmost composers of today [Mithoon, Pritam, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and of course Reshammiya] get a fair share of songs for them in this compilation. Secondly, the album comprises of 2 CDs hence comprising of each of the 34 songs in entirety.
Let's start with Reshammiya first. To give him fair credit, each of his albums, whether successful or not-so-successful in entirety, has boasted of at least one chartbuster track. This is why apart from obvious inclusions like remixes of 'Assalaam Vaalekum' and 'Tera Mera Milna' from 'Aap Kaa Surroor', tracks like 'Dekhun Tujhe' & 'Mehfooz' [Apne] and 'Tere Layee' & 'Yeh Dooriyan' [Fool N Final] also get an entry into the compilation. Add to that some genuine chartbusters like 'Shakalaka Boom Boom' [Shakalaka Boom Boom] & 'Aafreen' [Red] and it is hard not to hit the dance floor.
Young and promising Mithoon isn't left behind as he makes his presence felt with three of his chartbuster tracks from 'The Train' appearing in their remix avtars. Whether it is a rollicking 'Woh Ajnabi' or sorrowful 'Mausam' and 'Beete Lamhein', you tend to put them in a repeat mode.
Nevertheless there is always a stray 'Mere Yaar' [Shootout At Lokhandwala] that makes you wonder if it was indeed required in the compilation. Thankfully, an inclusion like this is an isolated incident as the current favorite 'You're My Love' [Partner] more than makes up for it. Add to it some songs from the past that have never failed to entertain, like 'O What A Babe' [Rakhth], 'Dil Mera' [Kya Kool Hain Hum] and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' [Mujhse Shaadi Karogi] and you know that it is time to keep your dancing shoes on.
With a huge bank of superhit songs to it's name, the music company would have struggled with a choice of aplenty to shortlist 34 chartbusters. Well, songs like 'It's Rocking' [Kya Love Story Hai], 'Ganpat Rap' [Shootout At Lokhandwala] and 'Sajnaji Vari Vari' [Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.] just walk in with ease and entertain all over again. Ditto for songs like 'Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai' [Woh Lamhe] and 'Dil Tod Ke Naa Jaa' [Pyaar Ke Side Effects] which have consolidated over the months.
Amongst more popular tracks like 'Tainu Leke' & 'Saiyan Re' [Salaam E Ishq], 'Dil Na Diya' [Krrish] and 'Aaj Ki Raat' [Don], it is heartening to see soft songs like 'Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar' [Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar] and 'Chal Chalen' [Woh Lamhe], which add on to the variety.
'Everybody On Dance Floor 4.0' is a good compilation if you love to play your music loud, rock the dance floor hard and like to add on beats to the music. Go for it if you have a party at home.
