After 'Boss', Action King Akshay Kumar is all geared up for his next on-screen adventure 'Gabbar'. The film, which has the actor in completely different avatar, went on floors yesterday (8th Jan).
For his character, Akshay will be seen in a long hair-and-thick beard look. Through his social networking site, the Khiladi posted his picture and wrote, "Starting the #NewYear, with a New Movie, a New Look & by God's Grace lots of Luck!! 1st shot for #GABBAR :) Wish me luck!".
Akshay's heroine in the film, Shruti Haasan also tweeted, "Day 1 of Gabbar!" Apparently, going by the second picture, the scene revolved around Shruti Haasan's character and her reel house. As a matter of fact, the actress is back to shoot fit and fine after she had appendicitis surgery recently.
The team had a surprise visitor in Karisma Kapoor who turned up at the shooting spot to wish her former co-star for the movie. "What a beautiful #BlastFromMyPast! My 1st Heroine came to wish me luck for my new film! #KarismaKapoor u still Rock;)" had tweeted the Khiladi who had worked with the actress in nearly twelve movies.
'Gabbar', produced by Shabina Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, marks the directorial debut of south filmmaker Krish and the film is the remake of AR Murugadoss's Tamil hit 'Ramana'. Initially Shraddha Kapoor was chosen as the film's leading lady, later she opted out of the project citing date issues and Shruti was replaced to take her place. Incidentally, Shabina and Bhansali had last worked with Akshay in 'Rowdy Rathore'.
