Director Anurag Kashyap's friends are lobbying hard through SMS' and a sustained campaign to ensure that his film "Black Friday", on the Mumbai blasts of 2003, gets a release.
The long court battle to get the film released must be quite frustrating, but Kashyap can probably take heart that he has a lot of supporters out there.
His old-time friends from his theatre days and the trade have come forward to lobby for the film's release through an SMS campaign, which will generate a signature campaign. "The idea is to garner as much support as possible for the film's release," says director Imtiaz Ali of "Socha Na Tha", Kashyap's close friend from his theatre days in Delhi.
Though the film is based on a book of the same name, its release has been stayed by the Mumbai High Court.
"The film is based on a book, which recounts the happenings, which has turned out to be a best seller. If a book can be written and allowed to be published, why can't a film be allowed for public viewing?" asks Ali.
