Salman not high-strung: Sajid Nadiadwala
IANS [Tuesday, August 16, 2005]

After the initial hiccups of the Salman Khan-Akshay Kumar tiff, followed by the controversy of the Salman tapes that forced him to abandon shooting, Sajid Nadiadwala is all set to begin the first major schedule of his film "Jaan-E-Man" in right earnest.

The 45-day schedule begins in New York from Sept 1, with both Salman and Preity in it. "I don't think there will be any interruptions in the shooting of the film now. We will complete a major part of the shooting in New York after which we'll return and finish the rest," says Sajid.

He maintains that Salman is not "the high-strung and impulsive person" that everyone is making him out to be.

"The Salman I know is definitely not impulsive, or he wouldn't have completed any film in the stipulated period of time. I have worked with Salman in four films and all of them were completed in a span of less than six months," Sajid says.

He denies that the widely publicized phone tapes revealing allegedly controversial remarks by Salman about Preity would cause any problems.

"Preity is a very level-headed person and the two continue to share an excellent rapport," insisted Sajid. He also dismissed talk that the long New York schedule has been advanced to make up for the delays. "It was always planned for Sept 1. We had decided that we would shoot most of the film in New York."Sajid says he is not upset with the media for reviving the four-year-old tapes controversy. "It was a serious story and the media did a thoroughly investigative and professional job."
