Internationally acclaimed lyricist and singer Lionel Richie is expected to attend and maybe perform at the 50th birthday bash of beer baron and Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Mallya here on Dec 18.
If the American popstar does make it to Goa for the party, it would be a rare visit.
United Breweries vice president and one of the coordinators for the party Govind Tiwari confirmed that Lionel Richie was on the guest list, which also included a host of Bollywood stars and political bigwigs.
However, did not say whether the Grammy and Oscar winning star has been invited to perform.
"I cannot say that, but he is on the list and invited for sure," Tiwari said, adding that the party on Sunday would host "more than half of Bollywood".
The star-studded celebrations would take place at the sprawling beachside Kingfisher Villa along the picturesque beach belt north of Goa's capital Panaji.
The who's who of Indian politics and the Page 3 circuits of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore are on the guest list, according to United Breweries officials.
Mallya, the flamboyant businessman-cum-politician, is known to host parties around Christmas and New Year's here in Goa, attended by a large number of movie stars, politicians and other celebrities.
Lionel Richie, a highly successful performer on the international stage, has won five Grammy awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
He recently co-wrote a song with Hollywood star, Richard Gere, to raise awareness about the spread of AIDS in India. The song, aimed at India's youth, was performed by contestants on the Indian Idol TV show earlier this month.
