'Bluffmaster' tops the music charts
IANS [Wednesday, January 04, 2006]

There has been major reshuffling in the top 10 music charts since last week but "Right here right now" from Rohan Sippy's latest venture "Bluffmaster" still retains its number one position.

The top 10 Hindi songs are:

1. "Right here right now" - Film: "Bluffmaster"; Singers: Abhishek Bachchan and Sunidhi Chauhan; Music: Vishal-Shekhar. This rap song, which marks Abhishek Bachchan's debut as a singer, is fast turning into a money spinner. Sunidhi Chauhan teams up with Abhishek in the slow and rhythmic number.

2. "Jiya dhadak dhadak jaaye" - Film: "Kalyug"; Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan; Music: Faisal Rafi, Rohail Hyat. The song, so reminiscent of the soft romantic numbers of the late 1960s and early 1970s, grows on you slowly but surely and hasn't budged from its position in one week.

3. "Rang de basanti" - Film: "Rang De Basanti"; Singer: Daler Mehndi; Music: A.R. Rehman. The film is scheduled to hit screens in the third week of January and its foot tapping title song is constantly moving up the music charts. The song is a treat for bhangra-king Daler Mehndi's fans.

4. "Dil keh raha hai" - Film: "Kyon ki"; Singer: Kunal Ganjawala; Music: Himesh Reshammiya. Actor Salman Khan's popularity can be measured by the success of this song rendered by Kunal Ganjawala. The slow romantic number has taken a big leap and is sitting pretty at number four position. Last week, it was number eight.

5. "Zinda hoon main" - Film: "Zinda"; Singer: Shibani Kashyap; Music: Shibani Kashyap. The title song, which was at number four position last week, has slipped down to number five. Virag Mishra pens the lyrics.

6. "Jhalak dikhla ja" - Film: "Aksar"; Singer: Himesh Reshammiya; Music: Himesh Reshammiya. The song is losing its charm and moving down on music charts. But its positioning hasn't affected the popularity of Reshammiya, who is going places as a singer.

7. "Aasshiq banaya aapne" - Film: "Aashiq Banaya Aapne" Singer: Himesh Reshammiya; Music: Himesh Reshammiya. In spite of being there for months, the song is still selling like hot cakes.

8. "Ada" - Film: Garam Masala; Singer: Sonu Nigam; Music: Pritam. This number with its melodious tune has struck the right chord with music lovers.

9. "Just Chill" - Film: "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya"; Singers: Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi, Amrita Kak; Music: Himesh Reshammiya. The song pulsates with energy and enthusiasm and is a must at every party these days.

10. "Khwaishon mein" - Film: "Holiday"; Singers: Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal; Music: Ranjit Barot. This opening number of the sound track is a blend of western and Indian classical music and its lyrics are extremely soothing. Neelesh Misra builds the ideal romantic mood with his lyrics.
