USA-based NRI film maker, Kalpana Singh-Chitnis was awarded the silver medal for her 16-minutes short film 'Girl With An Accent' at the first Mumbai International Film Festival.

Kalpana who hails from Bihar was right from childhood very keenly interested in academics and cultural activities.

She has also won many awards and titles for her collection of poems Chand Ka Paivand.

Kalpana's forthcoming movies are God Bless America in English and Hindi which is based on a true story on attacks on U.S.A. and Kafan in Hindi which is based on a story by Premchand.
