What to watch out for?

Kailasa

If ‘Deewani’ was not good enough reason for ‘Kailasa’ to maintain an enviable #1 position at the top of the charts, the unleashing of the music video of Arabic/Punjabi ‘Tauba Tauba’ has clicked with the audience in a big way. After years of struggle, Kailash Kher finally gets his due and now creates a definite space for him.

Aap Ka Surroor

What’s up Reshammiya? After the success of ‘I Love You O Sayyoni – What’s Up’, which is the next number waiting to be choreographed? Carry on Himesh, majority still likes you in your trademark rock-star getup and funky songs!

Let The Music Play

Compilation continues to do brisk business as music lovers empty the stands to catch hold of Shamur, Kailasa, Hardkaur, Bally Sagoo, Swamy, Rang De Basanti, Kaal – all in a 2 CD pack. Low price of the album only helps the decision making!

FRICTION 2–The Party Continue

FRICTION 2 continues its upward journey as yet another music compilation to work with the 15-30 age group crowds. This compilation is more international with artists like Shamur, Arasha, Jay Sean, Mark Morrison's and Hardkaur. For desi-lovers, there is always an A.R. Rehman with 'Rang De Basanti'!

3

Mehfuz

Uninspired publicity pushes the album down the charts by two places. After ‘Soniya’, the title song ‘Mehfuz’ has finally been beamed on small screen but its promotion needs to pick up in a big way….and pretty soon!

Top of the Charts 2005

In absence of any individual/band making a mark in the Top-10 charts, its time for compilations to rule the roost! This album is entirely ‘desi’ with old yet evergreen hits like Rabbi’s ‘Bulla’, Kunal Ganjawala’s ‘Channa Vey’, Abhijeet Sawant’s ‘Mohabbatein’, Strings’ ‘Dhaani’, Indian Oceans’ ‘Bandeh’ amongst others. Continue to enjoy them in the absence of any other genuine singer/performer making his/her presence felt

#1 Their greatest hits summer 2006

The trend continues with yet another compilation [a good one though!] with songs by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan [Jiya Dhadak Dhadak], Jal [Lamhay], Shaan [Tishnagi], Babul Supriyo [Kuch Aisa Lagta Hai], Ali Zafar [Channo] amongst others.

Aadat - Jal

Inspiration or no inspiration; copy or no copy – the original Pakistani band ‘Jal’ continues to capture one’s imagination with its brilliant score in ‘Aadat’. No, we haven’t got bored of them yet as their ‘Aadat’ moves a couple of places up in the charts!

Jilawatan – Call

As ‘Jal’ sets a high standard for Pakistani pop music, yet another band from the country arrives in the form of ‘Call’. Their album is called ‘Jilwatan’ that has a song fast moving up the popularity ladder – ‘Sab Bhulake Ke’. ‘Kaash’ and ‘Pukar’ promise to follow soon. Will ‘Jilwatan’ go the distance?

Bohemia - Pesa Nasha Pyar

Lack of any new artist brings ‘Bohemia - Pesa Nasha Pyar’, an album released a few months back, into the charts. A ‘heavy’ album with around 20 songs, it is for the lovers of Punjabi pop. The alum has songs ranging from hip-hop [current flavor of the season] to the party songs
