As 'Phir Hera Pheri' and 'Chup Chup Ke' see a simulatneous release today, what astonishes is a number of commonalities between not just the two flicks but two other flicks ['Bhagam Bhagam' and 'Fool & Final'] that Priyadarshan and Neeraj Vora directe and write respectively.

1. First the obvious one - both PHP and CCK belong to the comedy genre
2. Now the most talked about - Priyadarshan directed the original 'Hera Pheri' while he returns to direct 'Chup Chup Ke'
3. Both the films have their director doubling up as a writer too. Priyadarshan writes for CCK while Neeraj Vora writes for PHP.
4. Both have music by Himesh Reshammiya and lyrics by Sameer
5. Both boast of two HIT tracks each - 'Ae Meri Zohrajabeen', 'Mujhe Yaad Sataye Teri' [Phir Hera Pheri] and 'Shabbe Firaq', 'Dil Vich Lagaya Ve' [Chup Chup Ke]
6. Both star Paresh Rawal and Suneil Shetty in important roles
7. Both star Rajpal Yadav and Shakti Kapoor as a comic relief
8. Shahid Kapoor worked with Firoz Nadiadwala [producer of PHP] in 'Deewane Huye Paagal' while Akshay Kumar worked with Priyadarshan in 'Garam Masala'
