Kailasa

Though Kailash Kher’s new songs in Sacred Evil [‘O Re Manjhi’ and Corporate [‘O Sikandar’] have not managed to generate much heat (inspite of being good compositions), his ‘Kailasa’ continues to do solid business amongst all segments of music lovers, whether classes or masses!

One of the best compilations to arrive in recent times, ‘Let The Music Play’ moves one position up in the charts as music lovers enjoy tracks by Shamur, Kailasa, Hardkaur, Bally Sagoo, Swamy along with tracks from Rang De Basanti and Kaal! A great bargain!

Aap Ka Surroor

For the first time since it shuffled between No. 1 and No. 2 in the charts, ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ moves a step down. Still it’s not a mean achievement to stay at the top inspite of being on stand for 5 months now! One more music video to arrive and Reshammiya would threaten the top 2 albums again.

FRICTION 2, a rocking international compilation with Shamur, Arasha, Jay Sean, Mark Morrison, Hardkaur and above all A.R. Rehman on its rolls doesn’t budge from its number 4 position.

Top of the Charts 2005

Third compilation in Top-5 charts conveys a clear message that there is a desperate need for a good music album to arrive soon, in fact very soon! Inspite of albums being released with numerous talent hunt winners, none of them have been able to make any impact whatsoever as far as the sales are concerned. No wonder, one is still interested in hearing Rabbi’s ‘Bulla’, Kunal Ganjawala’s ‘Channa Vey’, Abhijeet Sawant’s ‘Mohabbatein’, Strings’ ‘Dhaani’, Indian Oceans’ ‘Bandeh’ amongst others.

Mehfuz

After a fall of two positions last week, there is a further fall by one position as the buzz seems to be dying down for ‘Mehfuz’. Nevertheless the album is excellent and it is about time that the word of mouth catches up. The promotion needs to be bang on target too!

Another compilation. Another album that is fit for those looking at adding on to their collection. Artists range from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Jal, Shaan, Babul Supriyo, Ali Zafar and others! Do we need to say more?

Bohemia - Pesa Nasha Pyar

Surprise package of the week, ‘Bohemia’ actually moved two places up in the charts. Why surprising? Because album has been on the stands for months and there was a time when it actually moved out of the charts, only to make a comeback lower down the order. With a new music video hitting the telly soon, it should be interesting to watch the progress of ‘Bohemia’ from hereon!

Aadat - Jal

A ‘lambi race ka ghoda’, band ‘Jal’ just doesn’t allow any other album to even break into the Bottom-5 as it maintains a stranglehold in this region of the charts.

Jilawatan – Call

Though the publicity of the album leaves a lot to be desired, ‘Jilawatan’ continues to fight it out solely on its own merits. Still, its position is under a threat with new music albums arriving soon. Need of the hour is better promotion!
