Actress Pooja Batra who is a supporter of Ekal Vidyalaya, a charitable organization gives momentum to a People's Movement. This organization addresses the need of primary education in the villages of India.

Their mission is to set up one-teacher schools. Because of Pooja's gracious & beautiful presence the hall was packed to its full capacity & the fund raisers got an overwhelming response by volunteers & donors who were able to raise enough money to run 900 schools for a year in India.

Pooja Batra has been out of the limelight for some time. She is best remembered for her act opposite Anil Kapoor in Priyadarshan‘Virasat’. Having been happily married in USA, she continues to stay in touch with her roots. “We can all pay back our sincere gratitude to our mother-earth by doing something worthwhile for our needy brothers & sisters who need it the most. This is one way of saying thank you India,” she said.
