Aadat - Jal

Now that’s the power of packaging and marketing! Otherwise how can one explain a 2 year old album topping the charts all over again within 2 weeks of re-entering the charts? A new layout coupled with a song VCD and some good promotion and product placement have resulted in Jal’s ‘Aadat’ hitting the #1 spot once again. ‘Lamhay’ and ‘Aadat’ are chartbusters since months and ‘Rangon Mein’ is the one that deserves to meet a similar fate!

Let The Music Play

Moving one step up the ladder, ‘Let The Music Play’ currently is the most publicized album on all leading music channels. And why not? After all the sales are on a similar proportion too while the compilation is mouth-watering enough for anyone to fall for it.

Dance Masti Forever

After a long time, ‘Dance Masti Forever’ actually shows a slide from its enviable #1 position. It was expected anyways since the call of the situation is a fresh music video of some different song. That’s quite possible since the album’s repertoire consists of some chartbuster tracks from the past that have all the potential to be popular when presented as a music video.

#1 Rock Stars

Second album from across the border to find a place in the Top-5,  #1 Rock stars falls down by a couple of places but still holds on quite well to sustain its sales. Now that’s amazing since the album was out of the charts till just about a few weeks back.

Kailasa

The only album in Top-5 to enjoy a rock steady position, ‘Kailasa’ continues to sell, come what may. Just like ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ that was hardly disturbed by any new album hitting the stands, ‘Kailasa’ too enjoys a great stint in the charts.

Raeth

The biggest jump in the charts goes into the account of ‘Raeth’ that is consolidating its position with the hit single ‘Bhula Do’. There are at least a couple of other good tracks by this rock band from Pakistan that should turn out to be popular if presented as music videos.

Asian Flava II

Steady for third week in succession, ‘Asian Flava’ continues to work for those who want their music to be ‘bhangra-pop’. One thought that the arrival of newer albums would shake its position but none of that has happened in the last few weeks in spite of ‘Asian Flava’ hanging around in the bottom of the charts.

Party In Punjab

Just when one was thinking that ‘bhangra-pop’ may be on its way out [Asian Flava] from the charts, arrives a twin CD pack that has its title itself conveying what’s in store. ‘Party In Punjab’ is indeed a rocking party as it comprises of as many as 32 Punjabi tracks differentiated as ‘URBAN PARY’ and ‘DESI PARTY’.

FRICTION 2–The Party Continues

Moving a step lower down, the collections of ‘Friction 2’ have actually dwindled over the last few weeks and it should be a matter of time before it makes a graceful exit. Nevertheless, looking at the continued success of ‘Asian Flava’, one won’t be surprised if ‘Friction 2’ too throws in a surprise and continues to make merry for some more time.

Sona

Why is the album not moving up the charts? Are people now looking forward to a new music video? Looks likely since for all the beauty of the first music video from the album, one would still want to see something new. That’s again quite a good possibility since what ‘Sona’ excels in is variety. The album deserves to move higher up the order.
