IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, November 07, 2006]

Ravi Chopra has announced his decision to remake his own work. And before you jump to the conclusion around which film of his is he planning to remake, hold on since he is picking up his biggest success till date i.e. television version of 'Mahabharat' and presenting it in its cinematic avtar.

Film lovers may remember that months back, there were also talks about producer Bobby Bedi and director Mani Ratnam working together to make a trilogy that would tell the tale of 'Mahabharat'. The film was supposed to be made at a budget of over 100 crore and was designed at the same scale as that of 'Lord Of The Rings'. The starcast of the film comprised of more than half the industry's stars and superstars though choices for some of the roles were indeed quite hilarious.

Well, it seems Ravi Chopra may as well race ahead in his endeavor since he is planning to get his film started in 2007 end. He has some unique plans for his film since his 'Mahabharat' would be 6 hours long and presented as 2 films of equal duration. Another first would be the two films releasing on successive Fridays, something that has never happened in the history of world cinema!
