IndiaGlitz [Friday, November 17, 2006]

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is emerging as one of the most powerful and creatively fertile Bollywood Producer and director. His last production ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ has  not only emerged at the biggest hit of 2006, it has caused a mass movement of Gandhigiri that has reached the high precincts of UN as well. Another feather was added to his cap when Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh conferred the Sunil Dutt Punjab Rattan Award on him yesterday.

Chopra has been awarded for his contribution to the growth of Indian Cinema. This prestigious award has been started by the Government of Punjab to felicitate the sons of the soil who have made a substantial contribution to society. Vinod Chopra is eagerly looking forward to his next release ‘Eklavya’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan and Boman Irani. Mr Chopra will be back to saddle the director’s chair after ‘Mission Kashmir’ five years ago.
