Akshaye Khanna plays a very pivotal role in the ensemble starcast of ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’. Akshaye plays the role of a snobbish Townie character that likes falling in love but has a phobia for marriage. He is scared of commitment.

When enquired whether the character in the film is inspired by his personal life, Akshaye vehemently denies it. Says Akshaye, “I really liked the way the character evolved in ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, and instantly said yes when Nikhil narrated the script to me. It has interesting shades. But you can ask Nikhil on the inspiration behind this character. The character resembles more of Nikhil’s friend.”
