IndiaGlitz [Friday, March 09, 2007]

Baiscope Entertainment celebrates its first anniversary with IndieFocus - a film festival of eclectic independent cinema from across the globe with a panel of eminent directors like Anurag Kashyap and Oscar winning directors from abroad.

The film festival will be held from 16th march to 18th march 2007 at PVR Cinemas, Juhu.

Baiscope Entertainment is the first of its kind non profit NGO (Non Government Organization) of and for the Indian Entertainment Industry. It aims at providing support, opportunity and guidance to individuals aspiring to make a mark in film industry. And one of their key activities has been their monthly knowledge sharing workshops IndieFocus conducted by fimmakers and technicians from the ‘Indie’ space like Sudhir Misra, Anurag Kashyap, Amitabh Shukla, Gitanjali Rao, to name a few .

IndieFocus will feature an impressive line up of films (documentaries, feature and short films) and filmmakers from across the world.

Academy Award winning filmmaker Danis Tanovic (of No Man's Land fame) will walk the red carpet on the opening night of IndieFocus. The festival opens with the screening of his new film HELL.

True to Baiscope Entertainment's tradition of knowledge sharing workshops, the screening will be followed by a tête-à-tête between the filmmaker and the audience.

A few of the films in the IndieFocus platter are "The Beat That My Heart Skipped" from director Jacques Audiard, L'Enfant from director  Jean-Pierre Dardenne, A Bellyful of Dreams  by director Prakash, Padma Nadir Majhi  from  director Goutam Ghose and an interesting mix of short films, in their Shortscape section.
