T-Series and Himesh make news together
IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, December 05, 2007]

T-Series whose association with Himesh Reshammiya goes a long way back to his first film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and three of the topmost selling albums of the millennium – Tere Naam (2003), Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), Aap Ka Surroor (the album in 2006), Aksar  and Aap Kaa Surroor – The Moviee – The Real Luv Story (2007) have decided to forge stronger ties by producing three films that will feature Himesh in the lead, after the overwhelming success of this last-mentioned debut film as actor.

So far, Himesh had been a guest composer and scored a song each in T-Series films Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Darling. But now in a package deal that according to inside buzz is worth Rs 15 crore, Himesh is acting in, singing in and scoring music for three T-Series films Karzzzz (!), Kajraare and A Real Love Issshtory. While all films have lyrics by Sameer, the directors are Satish Kaushik, Pooja Bhatt and John Matthew Matthan. While the first is an official remake of Karz, the second will be a thriller with a social angle, in the third film, Himesh plays a tapori character.

Most of the songs of the first film have been recorded, including a special version of the chartbuster “Om shanti om” with a different tune.

Himesh, who considers 29 his lucky number (it is his mother’;s birthday) and he released AKS on June 29, saw to it that all the three films had consecutive muhurats on November 29, just a day before he left for his Amsterdam concert that incidentally was a huge success.

The numerology angle is also looked after as Himesh keenly follows it too, which explains the extra ‘z’s in Karzzzz and the surfeit of the letter ‘s’ in the last film!

Incidentally, T-Series bagged the 14th Lions Gold Awards 2007 for India's best Music Company Award" this year. Divya Khosla Kumar, wife of T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar accepted the award on behalf of T-Series at the Mumbai function.

Incidentally, Himesh has denied reports in a section of the Mumbai press that he wanted A.R.Rahman to sing for him, like some other composers. ‘Trust them to get it wrong 90% of the time,’ he stated on ‘phone from Amsterdam. ‘I had mentioned that I  would like to sing for him!’

Himesh’s last releases without himself in the cast are Anees Bazmee’s Welcome (in some songs) and Kamal Haasan’s ambitious bi-lingual Dashavataram, in which his compositions will be heard in Tamil for the first time. Jackie Chan is slated to attend the music release of this film in February 2008.
