The New Year has started off well for music director Shamir Tandon. With the music release of SUPERSTAR by Ashtavinayak films (featuring Kunal Khemu and Tulip Joshi), the 1st track on air AJNABI has already caught the fancy of the youth at large.

With the music of 'Superstar' Shamir has made an entry into the realm of commercial cinema prior to which he was best known for his mature music in the realistic movies of Madhur Bhandarkar.

Having extensively used legandary voices in his past films (Lataji, Ashaji ,Manna Dey, Jagjit Singh, Bhupinder etc), in this film he has used a lot of young new voices.

Having discovered an Assamese voice Raaj for his lead romantic track AJNABI, Shamir has used Hamza for an indo-arabic track MANN TU TALBAT, a hip hop track in the voice of  Adnan Sami, a retro track by Shaan Kunal and a new voice Amrita Kak, his personal favorite is the melancholic duet featuring Sultan Khan and Rekha Bharadwaj. The lyrics have been penned by Shabbir Ahmed.

Shamir promises to have a new music release every alternate month. The very 1st quarter will see the music release of Superstar, Mr White Mr Black and Sangeet Sivan's Click
