The IFFLA festival closed with the Closing Night Gala presentation of MUMBAI CUTTING…A CITY UNFOLDS on Sunday, April 27 at Arc Light Hollywood. A joint project by eleven of the best directors in India, Sudhir Mishra, Anurag, Kashyap, Rituparno Ghosh, Revathy, Kundan Shah, Jahnu Baruwa, Rahul Dholakia, Shashank Ghosh, Manish Jha, Ruchi Narain and Ayush Raina. The film gives each ace director an opportunity to interpret Mumbai, one of the most dynamic, prosperous and vivacious cities of the world in their own special style. At times stark, sometimes comical, and equally cynical, and hopeful, the diverse visions that they portrayed captures the complexities of the 60 million people that have been drawn to India’s dream factory, where struggling for survival is the main pastime!

This year’s Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles attendees included eight of the eleven prominent directors of MUMBAI CUTTING…A CITY UNFOLDS; they were Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, Revathy, Kundan Shah, Jahnu Baruwa, Rahul Dholakia, Shashank Ghosh and Ayush Raina. All the directors were energized by the response they got after the premiere. Sudhir Mishra is all kudos for the production house ” I am proud of White cloud to have pulled off this massive project and I am glad for being the first to encourage this venture , after seeing the film today I am sure it’s going to be well received by the Indian Audience too”. Director Revathy says she has fallen in love with Mumbai all over again “The film was well accepted by the audience, I love Anuraag's film, it’s a master piece”.  Kundan shah also seems to being favoring Anurag “I am very excited about the film and looking forward for the release in India, for me I loved Anuraag's film, it was incredible” Whereas Anuraag was all in favor of Ayush raina, “on a fantastic debut. Indian Audience will love it”.

Jahnu Barua was the last one to shoot  his film as he says “ I am pleased that White cloud and Sahara One Motion Pictures agreed to push the deadline by one month for me, I am very proud of being part of this bold endeavor.” While Rahul Dholakia states that “My film features last and the audience response was that it sums up the entire film, couldn’t have got a better compliment than this. Mumbai Cutting was fun and I love the idea of short film per say.” In Shashank Ghosh words “The film was very well accepted by the firangi's here, they were glued to their seats and I think that by itself is a fantastic response.”
Rahul Bose, Parminder Nagra, Eric La Salle, Carl Weathers, Jaleel White, Nia Vardalos, Samrat Chakrabarti, Rebecca Hazelwood, Vic Sahay, and Liz Mermin also graced the occasion.
