Darmesh Darshan's day out with juniors
IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, November 05, 2008]

The students of the Whistling Woods International Film School got the opportunity to learn from the knowledge gained by one of the most successful film makers of Bollywood over the years.

Darmesh Darshan, the maker of such blockbusters as 'Raja Hindustani' released in 1996 and 'Dhadkan' which hit the theaters in 2000, interacted with the future film makers of the institute.

According to Darmesh, direction is all about instinct at the gut level.

Talking about his journey as a director, he told that he had to completely rely on his passion for cinema to reach a level to be considered as a good film maker.

Advising the students, he told them to make optimum use of the training that they receive in the institute, but to not get so much trained that learning from the life experiences takes a back seat.

In Darmesh's opinion, awareness can sometime destroy the gut-level instinct.

He also urged the budding film makers to draw inspiration from within their minds and to rely on what touches, excites and hurts them the most.

The songs of this senior director's films have always been outstanding and are still remembered.

Imparting his perceptions on how the music part of the film should be handled, Darmesh told that he is very particular on the ways in which the songs and background music of his films should shape up and how they should be placed.
