Anupam Kher has been presented with the lifetime achievement award at the latest Teacher's Achievement Awards which is a joint venture of Beam Global Spirits and Wine and the reputed audit firm KPMG.

The function to honour the winners of the awards in the different categories was held at the Maurya Sheraton hotel in New Delhi.

Actor Rahul Khanna and Manasi Scot were the hosts of the award ceremony.

The winners were selected by a jury consisting of fashion designers J.J.Vallya, Ritu Kumar, musicians Louis Banks and Amjad Ali Khan, Ayaz memon, vocalist Jagjit Singh and Micheal Ferreira.

After receiving the award Anupam Kher said "when you talk about lifetime achievement awards, you usually think of an old man in a wheel chair in the fag end of his life, having devoted his life to years of hard work. I think I am too young for this award. The last 25 years of my life may have been hazy, but I will remember the next 25 years"

The architect of the Indian Premier League, Lalit Modi was presented with the Achievement of the Year Award.

The acclaimed fashion designer Manish Arora was given the best fashion designer of the year award which has been included for the first time.

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan got the top prize in the music section, Olympic god winner Abhinav Bindra was given the award for the best sports person and Sanjeev Bhikchandani selected as the winner in the business category.
