As the film 'The Prisoner' is going to get released in India in Ferbruary 2009, the Grand Prize of the Jury at the 2008 Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) held in Gold Coast, which is a famous tourist destination in Queensland will now help the movie in getting more audience and publicity.
APSA is an initiative of the Queensland government to give the due recognition to the flicks that portray its respective cultural origins in the best manner and also to give credit to the various aspects that make up the total craft of movie making.
More than 180 films from 43 countries competed for the various awards in the different categories in this year's APSA.
Director of 'The Prisoner' made on a small budget of Australian USD 100,000 Pryas Gupta said that the Jury Grand Price has come as a pleasant surprise and that it has been a most overwhelming experience.
Rajat Kapoor who played an important character in 'The Prisoner' and one who was also nominated for the best actor award said that it is fabulous for the movie to have won the award and that he is thrilled to have been part of the film making journey with the director Pryas Gupta.
