IndiaGlitz [Friday, November 14, 2008]

Anil Kapoor may be the happiest man for the way the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' has been received all over the globe over by the critics as well as the film lovers who have been able to catch it in the different film festivals.

The reason being that the role done by the veteran B-Town actor was offered to some other A-list actors before it came to Anil as all the others had given a negative nod to the offer of Danny Boyle, the director of the flick.

All those actors who were considered before Anil Kapoor might now be regretting that they kicked away a golden opportunity that came knocking at their doors.

A lot of admirers have shown utter amazement in the way the acclaimed Hollywood film maker Danny Boyle have been successful in blending his film making sensibilities with a style of film making prevalent in Bollywood.

The end result is that of a flick that can be equally enjoyed by everyone in the world due to the connectivity that the viewers can feel with the content of the movie which revolves around the concept of an underdog making it big utilizing his raw life experiences.

'Slumdog Millionaire' will be surely a winner in the U.S.A as the major critics there have all loved the film.

Lou Lumenick who  monitors the movies for The New York Post says that four stars are simply not enough for 'Slumdog Millionaire' which just may be the most entertaining movie that he has ever labeled a masterpiece in the pages of the newspaper for which he works.

His expression " Slumderful, this millionaire is well worth its weight in gold" says the high impact that the film has made on his experienced sharp senses.

Roger Ebert who is one of the most read film critics in U.S.A, says that the film is a breathless, exciting story, heartbreaking and exhilarating at the same time, about a Mumbai orphan who rises from rags to riches on the strength of his lively intelligence. The film's universal appeal will present the real India to millions of moviegoers for the first time.

'Slumdog Millionaire' immerses the audience in an alien landscape and shows it through the eyes of a young man fighting against history and his own culture's expectations.

This is what The Washington Times which labeled the film as a prize worth savouring, has to say.

The movie has Dev Patel playing the central role and Irrfan Khan Khan playing the role of a policeman.
