 The acclaimed film maker from Hong Kong Peter Chan's action flick 'The Warlords' has been selected to be the opening movie for the forthcoming 39th International Film Festival of India which will be commencing from November 22 in Goa.
Peter Chan also heads the jury of this year's IFFI.
Niki Kaimi, Tabassum Hashmi, Lav Diaz, and Marco Muller are the other distinguished film personalities in the jury.
he story of the 'The Warlords' takes place during the 1860's at the time when Taiping Rebellion happened and during the reign of Qing Dynasty in China.
The movie is all about a unresolved crime and about three brothers played by Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro who are forced by the cruel realities brought about by war and the political situations to fight against each other.
The movies selected for the biggest film festival in India will be screened in Entertainment Society of Goa complex and Kala Academy.
In the Film India Worldwide section, five films made by NRI film makers will be screened.
In the Country Focus section films from Russsia, Switzerland and Iran will be shown.
