Karan expressed some genuine, matured thoughts
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, December 02, 2008]

Wounds inflicted on the body of Bombay will take a long time to heal and the sons and daughters of the big always welcoming city are just beginning to come out of the mental horror that sprang up from the feeling of being utterly naked and helpless when devious plans of extermination by vicious men are put successfully into practice.

The true utility, might and reach of the various instruments that make up the new media is on full display as the common man, the celebrities and who ever having an irresistible urge to vent their anger are making the best possible use of the communication modes like blogs and mobile phones to express their frustration and anger regarding a paralysed, inefficient governing system.

By now all the film stars who have their own blogs like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan etc. have said what they sincerely felt about the present system of dealing with things prevailing in the country and also shown solidarity with the feelings of desperation of lakhs of Indians.

Through his blog hit maker and star programe host Karan Johar has said that the politicians who were more eager to make silly comments should be bashed.

He further asked the rulers whether they were not feeling anything and is it not possible for them to say anything that can make the people feel a little more secure.

These questions were asked to those politicians who Karan feels are soulless and emotionless and were addressing the nation by repeating what appears in tele-prompters.

Echoing the taste of the disgusting emotions that has cast a shadow of paranoia and gloom for the first time even in the mindset of the rich who because of their higly protected environments and modes of transport are at anytime better protected and less exposed to the perils of terrorism and bomb blasts , Karan says " In our every day lives where maybe we went to Tiffin for lunch or did some window-shopping at the Taj, we now feel unsafe in our cars with tinted windows and our buildings with multiple watchmen."

He added "We now feel what a section of the city's lower-middle class must have felt on July 11, 2006 when their security was threatened. Affluent members of society now prance around panels claiming Mumbai is no longer safe. This city is not safe now nor was it safe two years ago".

Karan also made his grudge about the way the media meet to let the world know the details of fatalities were conducted.

He wrote "poorly conducted press conferences announcing the death and casualty toll for foreigners with the speaker unable to successfully read a list from a sheet of paper confusing Austria for Australia and generally making us look like illiterate idiots to a global audience. It left me embarrassed and struggling to find pride in our government".
