Asin's encore with Kamal Haasan

IndiaGlitz [Saturday, January 17, 2009]

The way Asin has traveled smoothly from her star territory down South into the Bollywood realm is commendable.

She is choosy but always manages to grab a project that is bigger and has an entirely different role for her than her previous film.

An international film titled '19th Step' having the veteran Kamal Haasan as the protagonist is one of the movies that will keep Asin occupied this year.

The actress will be appearing as a princess in the period film to be released in English, Tamil and Japanese.

The film's story revolves around the origin of the traditional Kerala martial art called "Kalaripayattu" and the efforts of the lead actor in preserving it.

And as this martial art is known as the ancestor of Karate and Chinese Kung Fu, the film will generate a lot of curiosity as well as expectations from different parts of the globe.

Bharath Bala Productions and Walt Disney are producing '19th Step' to be directed by Bharath Bala.

The Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano plays a pivotal role of a Samurai who is on a mission to learn the secrets of Kalaripayattu.

'19th Step' will start the production in Kerala during August.
