The head of Spice Group (with its diversified wings in telecom, media, entertainment and technology) Dr. B.K. Modi will be investing 400 Crore INR in the entertainment and media field. In connection with this Mr. Modi has announced a couple of films that his group will be producing under the name of Spice Enfotainment.
Ashutosh Gowarikar will be directing a project titled ‘Buddha’. The director has said that the actor who will be donning the character of Buddha will most probably be an international face, but he has also said that the film will have Indian faces as well. Ashutosh who recently addressed a press conference in Mumbai revealed certain aspects about this film.
The director said that the film would go on floors by mid-2010 and would be complete by the end of the year. The other aspects of the film like finalizing the locations, pre-production work and finalizing the technicians and the actors will begin by June 2009. The director has also revealed that most of the film will be shot in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Though the director was quite forth coming about the over all aspect of the film he was wary when the scribes queried him about the film’s budget. Reports indicate that close to 100 Crore rupees has been chalked out for this project.
Let’s hope Ashutosh who is an ace in directing big budget films would sure be an asset to this epic film as well.
